摘要
基于外语教学必须强化跨文化意识和能力这一理念,本文旨在研究国内外英语教材在跨文化教学设计方面的特征。作者选取了各三套国内和国外初级至中级英语教材作为研究语料,运用语料库技术,通过对比方法来揭示国内外教材在跨文化教学设计方面的特征。研究发现:教材中涉及到的跨文化内容较少;宏观文化占很大比例,应适当增加微观文化;国内教材对学生的认知能力要求较低,可适当提高。作者认为本研究既可拓展教材研究方法,同时对今后英语教材特别是国内教材在跨文化教学设计方面的编写有借鉴意义。
Based on the concept that cross-cultural communicative awareness and competence ought to be enhanced in foreign language teaching, this paper intends to explore features of cross-cultural teaching design in domestic and foreign EFL coursebooks. Three domestic and three foreign EFL coursebooks for pre- intermediate and intermediate learners are selected as the research corpora. CCTD features of domestic and foreign coursebooks are revealed through contrastive study. The paper reveals that more CCTD cases could be added in both the domestic and foreign EF/coursebooks, macro culture occupies a large proportion but more micro culture could be covered and that more cases of higher levels, especially Level II and III, may be added in domestic coursebooks. Moreover, the framework set up in the present research can be enlightening for further study and the results and findings of this contrastive study between domestic and foreign coursebooks can be of significance for improving domestic coursebooks compiling.
