张承志是新时期文坛上的理想主义小说家又是痴情的文化追寻者。伴随着上个世纪80年代"文化寻根"浪潮,张承志的足迹遍布在祖国各方,痴情文化寻根,访北方河流、驰骋内蒙古草原、走进宁夏西海固,企望找到自己的心灵寄托。从一个自喻为举着羊鞭不经意闯入了文学圣殿的牧羊人孩子到自称为人心为人道而歌的理想主义者,张承志始终致力于对生命的诠释、灵魂的探索和文化寻根。

Zhang Chengzhi is both an idealistic novelist and an infatuated cultural seeker in the literary world in the new era. Along with the ＂cultural root-seeking＂ revival trend of thought in the 1980s, Zhang Chengzhi＇s footprints spread throughout all over the country. Infatuation culture sought roots, visited Northern rivers, galloped Inner Mongolia grasslands, and entered XiHaigu of Ningxia . He hopes to fnd his spiritual home. From a shepherd child who accidentally entered the literary temple with a sheep whip to an idealist who calls himself a human being and sings, Zhang Chengzhi has always devoted himself to the interpretation of life, the exploration of the soul, and cultural roots.
