Exploration of four seas in Huangdi Neijing

《黄帝内经》所提出的"四海",是对人体部位及生理活动的一种功能概括。然而对四海之输、针刺治则、临床研究未有定论,众说纷纭。今以《黄帝内经》藏象理论及气街学说为基础,对四海之生理、病候进行论述,探究"脏腑-气街-经脉"之源流与相合,以明四海实为内外通达的系统概念。

The four seas proposed in Huangdi Neijing is a summarization of the functions of human body parts and physiological activities. However, there is no consensus on the shu-stream point of four seas, principle of acupuncture treatment and clinical research. In order to understand the systematical concept of four seas is actually the channel which can connect the internal and external of body, based on the theory of visceral manifestations and pathway of qi theory, this paper discussed the physiology and symptoms of the four seas, and explored the source and combination of zang-fu viscera, pathway of qi and channel.
