Preserving the environment and resources has been firmly upheld throughout the long history of the Chinese nation. It is not only a summary of China＇s experience in governing the country since ancient times, but also the essence of the history of Chinese traditional laws. This fully demonstrates the wisdom of the Chinese people in legislation while they live in harmony with nature. This paper intends to sort out the ecological preservation measures carried in the ancient legal provisions and contribute to improving the current legislations on ecological preservation.
