A new maize hybrid Xuntian 979 was bred with inbredline X3058 as female parent and inbredline X31395 as male parent by Hebei Universe Agriculture Science and Technology Co. , Ltd. The varieties have good disease resistance, good grain quality, stable yield and high yield. In the regional test of summer sowing super dense group in Hebei, the average yield was 10 708.5 kg/hm2 and was 4. 3% higher than that of control Zhengdan 958 in 2015 and 2016.
