摘要
鲍康宁的《英华合璧》50年内修订、再版达14次,包含着鲍康宁重要的汉语教学和学习理念。其中通过比较学习的思路尤为突出,既有汉语和其他语言的比较,也有汉语内部的比较,后者既包括语音的比较,也包括词语和语法的对比,还有语用的对比。《英华合璧》的体系对西方人来说"自然且简便",至今仍有较高的借鉴价值。
F W Baller's Mandarin Primary was revised and reprinted as more as 14 versions within fifty years. It is an overall embodiment of Baller's ideas of teaching and studying Chinese. The most prominent part is studying Chinese by comparison, which including not only comparing Chinese and other languages but also comparing within Chinese, such as comparison of pronunciation, expression, grammar and pragmatic. Mandarin Primary's grammar system is "natural and simple" to western and has high reference value so far.
