Objective To investigate the usage and variation tendency of narcotic drugs in Liaoning Cancer Hospital and Institute from 2015 to 2017, in order to provide reference for rational use of drugs in clinic. Methods The usage of narcotic drugs in Liaoning Cancer Hospital and Institute from 2015 to 2017 were collected, and the consumption quantity, consumption sum, defined daily dose system(DDDs), defined daily cost(DDC), and drug sequence ratio(B/A) were calculated and compared. Results The total consumption sum of narcotic drugs showed a steady increase from 2015 to 2017, among which Oxycodone Hydrochloride Prolonged-release Tablets(40 and 10 mg) showed a highest increase compared to others. On the other hand, consumption sum of Fentanyl Transdermal Patches(8.4 and 4.2 mg) was decreased every year. There was a tendency that Fentanyl Transdermal Patches were being replaced by Oxycodone Hydrochloride Prolonged-release Tablets. DDC of all the narcotic drugs in 2015 was exactly the same as that in 2016, and was decreased in 2017. B/A of Morphine Hydrochloride Injection, Morphine Hydrochloride Controlled-release Tablets, Morphine Hydrochloride Tablets(10 mg), Pethidine Hydrochloride Injection, and Opium tablets(50 mg) were close to 1.00. Conclusion The utilization of narcotic drugs in Liaoning Cancer Hospital and Institute is basically rational.
