语境顺应视角下政府网站英文翻译失误研究--以福建省厦门市政府网站英文版为例

Analysis of C-E Translation Errors in Governmental Website Based on Contextual Adaptability Theory:A Case Study of Xiamen English Governmental Website

在维索尔伦创立的语境顺应论的基础上对厦门市政府网站英文版的翻译失误进行个案研究。维索尔伦将语境分为交际语境和语言语境。根据交际语境下的社交世界和心理世界以及语言语境下的篇际制约分析厦门市政府网站英文版存在的四种翻译失误类型并为所举例子提出整改措施。分析结果表明运用语境顺应论能够有效解决政府网站英文翻译的语用失误,为英语读者理解和接受网站的信息创造条件,从而提高网站对外宣传的效果。

A case study of C-E translation errors in Xiamen English Governmental Website is made on the basis of Jef Verschueren＇s theory of contextual adaptability. Jef Verschueren divides context into communicative context and linguistic context. Based on social world and mental world in communicative context and intertextuality in linguistic context, four types of C-E translation errors are discussed in Xiamen English Governmental Website and then solutions to error examples are suggested. The analysis result shows that theory of contextual adaptability can effectively correct pragmatic errors in C-E translation in governmental website, which helps English readers to understand and receive its information and thus enhances its international publicity.
