Responsibility of memory and impulsion of oblivion——Interpretation of The Buried Giant from the perspective of literary ethics

本文从文学伦理学批评的角度,分析小说《被掩埋的巨人》中人物面对的身份认同危机与伦理选择的困境,展现人物身上理性意志与非理性意志之间的冲突与博弈。文章试图思考在记忆与忘却之间,正义的缺席与在场对文本历史生成的影响。《被掩埋的巨人》以记忆的伦理为文学书写和表达的理论起点,使虚构的小说成为映照历史的镜像,历史在现实中被重新建构,现实在历史的烛照中洞悉幽微。

Through the analysis of the identity crisis and the plight of ethical choice the characters in The Buried Giant are faced with, the paper attempts to show their conflict and game between the rational will and the irrational will from the perspective of ethical literary criticism, which tries to consider the impact of the absence and presence of justice on the historical formation of text between memory and oblivion. The Buried Giant employs ethics of memory as the theoretical starting point of literary writing and expression, making fictional novel as a mirror image on history. History is reconstructed in reality, and reality is known in the candle light of history.
