Eugene O＇Neill is a peerless dramatist in the world with four Pulitzer Prizes, the most renowned American drama prize, and this is no coincidence. These four prizes not only witness the beginning, rising, prime and revival of Eugene O＇Neill＇s literary career but also interrelate with his life and career. This paper reveals this interrelation between dramatists and drama prizes by studying the life and career of Eugene O＇Neill from the perspective of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama and summarizing the features of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama based on research on Eugene O＇Neill.
