Review and prospects： In memory of the Chinese journal Quaternary Sciences on founding 60 years

文章回顾了《第四纪研究》创刊60年来的发展历程，总结了《第四纪研究》创办过程中的探索历程与实践经验。根据期刊统计数据，分析了《第四纪研究》2001~2017年的变化和成果，以及在我国期刊行业中的地位和发展趋势。结果表明，《第四纪研究》创刊60年来，伴随着中国第四纪科学的蓬勃发展和研究水平步入世界第四纪研究前列，经过主编、历届编辑委员会和编辑的努力工作，以及作者和读者的支持，发展迅速，已成为第四纪地质学与环境科学研究领域有影响的核心期刊。同时，也指出了《第四纪研究》所面临的问题，并给出解决方案，提出了创立一流刊物的发展目标和措施。

This article reviewed the developing history of Quaternary Sciences since its foundation 60 years ago, and gave a summary of the experiences during this exploration process. According to the statistical data, we analyzed the journal＇s development and achievement during 2001~2017, and discussed the journal＇s situation and tend in China＇s science journal industry. The results showed that since the foundation of Quaternary Sciences 60 years ago, along with the flourish of China＇s Quaternary science and its great progress in the world＇s Quaternary research, Quaternary Sciences has become an influential core journal in Quaternary geology and environment science, and this achievement is greatly supported by the Chief editors, the editorial board, the editors, the authors and the readers. At the same time, we also noticed the problem faced and took steps to solve them, and finally set first class science journal as a goal.
