THE DEVONIAN AND SILURIAN CORALS FROM BANGE AND SHENZA,NORTHERN XIZANG(TIBET)

The corals from Bange and Xainza, N.Tebet, are described here, they represent 6 genera, 7 species of Rugosa, among which 3 species are new;5 genera, 7 species of Tabulata, among wnicn 4 species are news and 1 genera,1 species of Heliol-itoideaj a totaity of 12 genera, 15 species, namly, the Rugosa as Maikottia sp., Hexagonaria xainzaensis sp.nov., Spongophyllum yongzhuense sp.nov., S.daerdo-ngens:s sp.nov .,Disphyllum sp.,Centristela sp., Pseudoamplexus sp.; the Tabulata as Palaeofavosites paulvs tamsaluensis Sokolov, P.bangeensis sp. nov., Halysites zangbeiensis sp. nov., Solenihalysites norvegicus Stasinska, Favosites nikiforovae Ohekhovich, F.tenuis sp.nov., Squameofavosites wangi sp.nov., and the Heliolitoi-dea as Heliolites insolens Tchernychev.The character and type of the Silurian strata in this area are similar to that of Yangzi, Siberian, Russian and Northern, America Platform; while the Devonian, in respect of its type and character is similar to that of Southern Qinling and Western slope of Ural, but in respect of the character of biota, it is close to that of Dingri of Southern Xizang, Lijiang of W.Tuman and Bohemia. This is particularly true regarding the middle-uppe part of Daerdong Formation and Langma Formation. It is Judged that the Devonian and Silurian strata in the related area were accumulated in shawllow saes under stable tectonic environments.
