On Theory and Practice of Academic Libraries' Social Services under the Digital Information Environment: A Case of Hunan Normal University

This article systematically analyzes the legal system and government policy that academic libraries carry out their social serv- ices, and discusses the practical significance of the development of social services by academic libraries to meet social needs and pro- mote their own development. Taking Hunan Normal University Library as an example, this paper introduces its recent years＂ achieve- ments and experiences in developing social services under the digital information environment and explores the strategies that academic libraries should adopt to effectively carry out their social services. 6 refs.
