Weapons of Subaltern Weak:Individual Performance,Exception Discourse and Body Violence

相较印度及东南亚,中国底层政治有其在地化特色,即主要依赖个体表演、例外话语和身体暴力作为弱者的"武器":采用个体表演的公开极化形式而非社群的集体抗争或者个体的隐藏文本;例外话语用来指认逍遥法外的他者而不非寻求对自我的法外开恩;身体暴力是弱者暴力和自我暴力而非强者暴力和他者暴力。

Compared with the subaltern politics in India and Southeast Asia,Chinese subaltern contentious politics has its own localized characteristics,relying on weapons of individual performance,exception discourse,and body violence.Firstly,it is the individual performance that becomes the polarization of individual contention in Chinese subaltern politics,rather than the collective contention of communities or the hidden transcripts of individuals.Secondly,the discourse of exception is not used to ask for temperance and mercy on the subaltern themselves,but strategically appropriated by subaltern people to identify their antagonistic others.Thirdly,the violence in Chinese subaltern politics is mostly the violence of the weak,rather than the violence of the powerful,and the violence on the self,rather than the violence on the others.
