语言是人与人之间的重要的交际手段。一般说来,不论说话或写文章都要求语句简练,但在某些特殊情况下,故意不直截了当地表情达意,而是采用委婉曲折的方式,含蓄闪烁的言辞,流露或暗示本意,用言外之意、弦外之音,来代替当面锣对面鼓,是谓“婉曲”。

Tongue is an important way of communication between persons.Generally speaking,explicitness and con- ciseness are necessary in speaking and writing.However,in some particular cases,some ideas are expressed indirecdy on purpose.In other words what is actually meant can be shown in implicit words instead of in a direct way.That is e- uphemism.
