A Brief Review of Roget's 21st Century Thesaurus,Second Edition

类义词典作为词典中的一种,是指将词汇按题材分类编纂而成的词典。本文拟从词库的设计、词条内部的结构、以及收词几个方面出发,阐述该词库“便于查阅、内容丰富、实用性强”的特色。同时,也对词库在释义以及词条内部编排方面的一些不足提出自己的一些观点。

Thesaurus,a book of subject-related vocabulary,is one of the many types of dictionaries.This article is to expatiate on the features of the thesaurus,namely,“easy access,abundance of words and practicability”,in con- nection with the design of the thesaurus,the inner structure of the entries and the inclusion of words and phrases. Meanwhile,the article puts forward that the dictionary still leaves room for improvement in definition and the arrange- ment of the entries.
