With systematic-functional linguistics as the theoretical frame,the article points out the close con-nection between the methods of linguistic expression and rhetoric,and proves speech is a process in which appro-priate linguistic forms are constantly chosen from the linguistic system,therefore producing structures,and conse-quently achieving communicative intention.
