Harmony But Not Sameness——On the Cultural Fusion of European Integration

欧洲一体化追求的是"欧洲自性",也就是政治、经济、军事、法律、文化的同一性。战后50多年来,在欧洲各国着力建设"大欧洲"的政治构架中,欧洲文化融合的道路却是崎岖不平的。尽管文化的统一是一体化追求的最终目标,但是从本质上来说,深层次的欧洲文化融合依旧是和而不同的。和是不同质的东西合理配合,是多样的统一;同是相同质的东西简单重复与重合,是单调的同一。

European integration pursuits the'original nature of Europ',in other words that is,the political,economic,military,legal and cultural identification.European countries have strived to build a 'Great Europe' since the post-war times.However,the way of cultural integration is far from flat.Though the ultimate goal is the identi-fication of a common culture,cultural fusion in Europe is and will be always taking the feature of harmony but not sameness.
