Zero-hour,a brand-new teaching method used in English listening course,aims at preparing stu-dents' self-study ability by offering a large amount of extracurricular listening training.This paper,on the basis of analyzing the experiences and problems from the implementation of Zero-hour in English listening course,illustra-tes the possibility and importance of using this method in English teaching in independent college.Finally,this pa-per provides some helpful suggestions for further reference in this field.
