汉语外来词偏旁增值现象研究

Studies on Extra-message Created by Pian-pang in Chinese Loan Words

忠实于原文一直被认为是传统意义上"翻译"的基本原则,然而汉字偏旁蕴含表意功能的特点却使得这一原则在外来词的翻译实践中往往不被遵守。译者常常根据原语的特点和译语的规律,利用汉字偏旁的表意功能,在语形、语义等层面上创造出原文中所没有的增值信息,以取得理想的翻译效果。通过分析外来词翻译实例,发现汉语外来词偏旁增值现象具有普遍性,其文化、心理、美学价值不可忽视。

Traditionally,faithfulness to the original has been regarded as an essential principle of translation. However,the notional potential Pian-pang possess always renders the translation of loanwords perfidious to this principle. Based on the features and characteristics of both source language and target language,translators often manage to create extra-messages on modal and semantic levels by dint of the crafty adoption of Pian-pang. By analyzing a great number of examples of loan words,the author concludes that it is not a rare phenomenon that extramessages are created by Pian-pang in loanwords,and that the cultural,psychological,aesthetic values of this translation phenomenon should not be overlooked.
