By analyzing the materiality and luminance conditions of the interior space of Louvre-Lens Museum and impact of the environment and time on exterior materiality, this paper contends that visual ambiguity of materiality causes ambiguous perception of space and encourages active bodily engagement to explore and confirm the perception, which reflects what Maurice Merleau-Ponty described as the ＇solicitations＇ of the environment. The materiality in SANAA＇s diagram architecture actually provides a dynamic way of bodily experiences in the space and interactions with the world.
