Site Semantics: From Functional relations to Structural relations Planning and Architectural Design of the new tianma Campus of hunan university

在湖南大学天马新校区规划与建筑设计中,地方工作室确立以结构主义和图式思想作为支撑的设计理念,化解常规的功能束缚,通过群构与地景策略的使用、地域类型的衍生、仪式化空间的营造来生成外在与内在的场所语义,试图创造出一个具有独特氛围的校园环境,探索一种表层物象背后深层次的秩序,以形成对当代快速化的社会文化图景的一种自觉抵抗。

The paper introduces the production of planning and architectural design of the new Tianma Campus of Hunan University： structuralism and the schemata idea were adopted as undergirding principles to resolve conventional functional constraints, and internal and external semantics were generated through the use of architectural grouping and landscape strategies, derivation of geographical types and creation of ritualized spaces. It aims to create a collegiate environment of unique atmospheres, and to explore the order deep behind the surface, so as to form an intrinsic resistance against drastic socio-cultural conditions nowadays.
