A faculty club is a meeting place for receptions, dinners and conferences. Such a club represents the university, conveys its status. Leiden＇s club, belonging to the oldest Dutch university, is situated in a stately building along a prominent canal. Tilburg＇s club, part of a younger Dutch university, exudes modernity from its setting in between the trees. The club is situated somewhat to the side of the university buildings. Shift architecture urbanism （founded by Harm Timmermans, Thijs van Bijsterveldt and Oana Rades） made an effort to let the building become part of the university.
