高管国际化背景会影响企业的社会责任表现吗? 被引量:1

Can the executives' international background affect the performance of corporate social responsibility?

摘要 管理层国际化被视作提升公司治理效率的一项重要手段。基于高层梯队理论,以2010—2016年的沪深A股上市公司为研究样本,就高管国际化背景如何影响企业社会责任表现进行了实证分析。研究发现:高管国际化背景对于企业履行社会责任有显著的正向影响;进一步研究显示,良好的外部环境是提升国际化高管治理效应的重要保障,当企业所在地区制度环境更优时高管国际化背景更能促进企业社会责任表现,不过这一关系在国有企业和非国有企业之间并没有产生明显差异。上述发现不但丰富了对国际化高管的经济后果和企业社会责任影响因素的理论认知,还为评估"海归"人才的经济外溢效应、优化高管选聘策略等政策实践提供了新的视角。 Management internationalization is seen as an important means of improving corporate governance efficiency. Based on the upper echelons theory and taking the A-share listed companies in Shanghai and Shenzhen Stock Ex- changes from 2010 to 2016 as research samples,this article empirically analyzes how the executives' international background affects the performance of corporate social responsibility. The study finds that the executives' international background has a significant positive impact on corporate social responsibility. Further research shows that a good exter- nal environment is an important guarantee for improving the governance effect of international executives. When the in- stitutional environment in which the enterprise is located is better, the executives' international background can pro- mote the performance of corporate social responsibility, but this relationship does not make any significant difference be- tween state-owned enterprises and non-state-owned enterprises. The above findings not only enriches the theoretical understanding of the economic consequences of international executives and the factors affecting corporate social re- sponsibility, but also provides a new perspective for evaluating the economic spillover effects of returnees and optimizing the strategy of selecting and hiring executives.
