Chinese new-vernacular literature is unimaginable without the participation of translated literature. On the one hand, translation and writing elevate each other; on the other hand, they restrict and consume one another. The relationship between critics and poets are complementary. The advent of the Internet places greater demands on the self- discipline of poets. Compared with our spiritual fathers like Qu Yuan, Li Po and Tu Fu, our spiritual uncles are Homer, Dante, Shakespeare, which also belong to our tradition. Poets shouldered a mission in form; poetry writing should be difficult. Writing ought to be at the service of life, and making life better is its purpose.
