张竹坡点评《金瓶梅》绝非单纯的兴趣所至,而是在其穷愁艰难的处境中＂发心＂完成的,所谓＂发心＂是一种特殊、复杂的激情状态,评点过程经历了情感、心态的剧烈起伏。张竹坡的＂评点＂无疑是＂第二创作＂,其评点形式有三种：一是书前各篇总评、专论;二是每回前或回中评论;三是旁批、眉批、夹批。
