A Study of the British Media News Reports on Immigration from the Perspective of Critical Metaphor

认知语言学增补了批评话语分析的理论框架和识解范畴。基于批评隐喻视角,本文对英国媒体移民新闻语篇中的隐喻进行认知特征识别、情景解读和语用动因分析,阐释隐喻在新闻意识形态生成中的意义,认为隐喻是表达特定情态的有效话语策略。

Cognitive linguistics has expanded the study theory and analyzing frame of Critical Discourse Analysis.Based on the critical metaphor,this paper aims to identify the metaphorical features of news report on immigration in British media,and make a critical analysis on its context and pragmatic motivations as well,which will disclose the metaphor addresser 's intention.Eventually,the finding shows that metaphor is an effective strategy to express modality
