Shimen folk songs are rich in resources. They praise both the beautiful love and hardworking people. The unique tune and debonair rhythm give the songs strong local characteristics. As a beloved folk art form, Shimen folk songs have left a valuable spiritual wealth to the working people of Luoping County and reflected the local customs and folk culture from different aspects. Author studied the songs by means of field investigation, recording, sampling, and analyzing, combined with the specific cultural background of Luoping County and reported from the aspects of resources, inheritors and ways of inheritance, present situation and future thinking of Shimen folk songs.
