Clinical Values of Tinnitus Evaluation Questionnaire

耳鸣评价量表(tinnitusevaluationquestionnaire,TEQ)是由中国临床医生在长期的耳鸣诊疗实践工作中研发的一个耳鸣评估工具,其研发思路与源自国外的众多耳鸣自评量表(self-reporttinnitusquestionnaire,SRTQ)在条目的来源、问卷包含的范围及采集信息方式等3方面有着本质的区别。近10年来在不同研究单位进行的多次应用性研究显示:TEQ具有良好的内部一致性信度(Cronbach’sα系数≥0.76)及重测信度(≥0.94);TEQ与中文版耳鸣残疾量表(tinnitus handicapinventory,THI)的评估结果相关系数≥0.73,而TEQ的评估时间较THI缩短了三分之二;TEQ具有非常理想的反应度及稳定的最小临床有意义变化值。实践表明,TEQ具有全面而简洁、准确而可靠的的特点。

Tinnitus Evaluation Questionnaire （TEQ） is an assessment tool developed by a Chinese medical doctor after long-term practice of clinical tinnitus diagnosis and treatment. Development thoughts are entirely different from self-report tinnitus questionnaires （SRTQ） originated from the western world. The differences lie in three aspects including item source, questionnaire content and administration method. Clinical research results from different hospitals over the last 10 years have shown the following findings： 1. The internal consistency of TEQ is good （Cronbach＇s α≥0.76）. 2. Test-retest reliability is good （≥0.94）. 3. The correlation co-efficiency between the TEQ and THI is ≥0.73.4. The assessment time of TEQ is 2/3 less than that of THI. 5. TEQ has ideal responsiveness and stable minimum clinical meaningful change score （MCMCS）. The clinical application practice after many years has proved that TEQ is comprehensive, simple, accurate and reliable while it is suitable for medical doctors to assess tinnitus severity and treatment outcome of patients even under heavy clinical workload. TEQ has become a good tinnitus assessment tool recommended by clinical doctors in both Western and Traditional Chinese Medicine domestically.
