Results of personality measurement with Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory in male homosexuals

根据中国精神病分类方案与诊断标准第2版修订版(CCMD-2-R)的定义,同性恋是指“在正常生活条件下对同性成员持续表现性爱倾向,包括思想、感情和性爱行为,对异性缺乏或减弱性爱倾向,也可有正常的性行为”。根据推测,我国同性恋人数可达到1000万以上。但是,我国长期以来对此缺乏研究,社会对此认识也意见不一。本文试图通过明尼苏达多项人格调查表(MMPI)

Objective To investigate the level of mental health and the psychological problems in male ho- mosexuals. Methods Sixty male homosexuals were measured with Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) and the Chinese norm was used as control. Results The scores of D, Hy, Pd, Mf, Pa, Pt and Si in male homosexuals were higher than in the control and the section of MMPI was of type 72. Conclusion Male homosexuals have many psychological problems, which may be related to social, cultural, family and individual's own factors.
