On the New Security Concept for Asia and China

中国国家主席习近平提出的“共同、综合、合作、可持续”新亚洲安全观，是20世纪50年代中国、印度等国共同提出的“和平共处五项原则”的延续和发展，其内核是中国的“和”文化。在新时代维护安全需要有新观念，新安全观是在与冷战思维斗争中发展的，它应作为国际关系的基本准则之一。亚洲新安全观是对和谐世界理论的发展，也是中国和平发展的重大宣示。坚持和丰富和平与发展为主题的时代观是亚洲新安全观的基础。和平与发展为主题时代为实现亚洲新安全观提供了现实条件。

The ＂Common, Comprehensive, Cooperative and SustainableSecurity for Asia＂, which is the new security concept for Asia put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping, is the continuation and development of the Five Principles of Peaceful Co-existence, which was put forward by China, India and Myanmar during 1950s. The core of this new concept has been the culture of ＂peace＂ of China. New idea is necessary in order to maintain security in this new period. The new security concept has been and will continue to be devel- oped through struggles against Cold War mentality, and should be one of the bas- ic principles of the international relations. The new security concept for Asia is the development of the theory of Harmonious World as well as the solemn dem- onstration of China＇s peaceful development. This new concept is based on a zeit- geist that adheres to and enriches the central theme of peace and development. This zeitgeist has provided realistic conditions for the realization of the new Asian security concept.
