新媒体背景下模因论在网络英语翻译中的应用探究

Research on the Application of Memetics in Network English Translation under the Background of the New Media

新媒体的出现让英语翻译的网络化特征更加丰富,并使其具有了视觉生动性和适合网络语言环境发展的语言网络礼仪。网络英语翻译中的模因正借助了新媒体的传播优势得到了更有效传播。模因论对网络英语翻译的影响经历了模因同化、模因记忆、模因表达和模因传输四个阶段。从模因论的角度探究新媒体发展环境中网络新词的特点并结合英汉翻译实践中的需要,可以构建出模因论在网络英语英汉翻译过程中的直译模因策略和文化对等模因策略。

The emergence of new media has enriched the network features of the English translation which is visual and vivid, and has its language network etiquette suitable for the development of network language environment. It is with the help of this advantage of the new media, the memes in network English translation are being disseminated more effectively. The influence of memetics on network English translation has experienced four stages： meme assimilation, meme memory, meme expression and meme transmission. From the perspective of memetics, this paper explores the characteristics of network neologisms in the context of new media development while taking into consideration the needs in English-Chinese translation practice, so as to construct literal translation memetics and cultural equivalence memetics in the process of English-Chinese translation.
