This paper gives an overview of the German transport situation and its infrastructure planning system, introduces the main contents, objectives and strategies of the latest edition of the 2030 German Federal Transport Infrastructure Plan （FTIP） and focuses on the comprehensive economic assessment methods and models adopted by the FTIP.
