东方风来满眼春.11月5日至10日,以“新时代,共享未来”为主题,史无前例的首届中国国际进口博览会吸引了世界的眼球.在总面积达30万平方米的展厅内,演绎着“广结良缘,满载而归”的精彩故事：172个国家、地区和国际组织参会,3617家企业参展,80多万人进馆洽谈采购、参观体验,按一年计,累计意向成交578.3亿美元.

With the theme of"New Era,Shared Future",the unprecedented first China International Import Expo(CIIE)attracted the attention of the world from November 5th to 10th.The exhibition hall with a total area of 300,000 square meters deduces the wonderful story of "making wide and good relationship and coming back with fruitful results".172 countries,regions and international organizations participated in the Expo.3,617 enterprises,more than 800,000 people came to discuss purchasing,visited or experienced.According to one year's calculation,the cumulative intention of transaction is $57.83 billion.There are exchanges of trade and also ideas.So what are the characteristics and highlights of this Expo?What are the contents related to shipping industry?Please review these wonderful moments together with our reporter's report.If the Expo is not a solo of China,but a chorus of countries,then opening cooperation is the main theme of the chorus.This is also the strongest message China has sent to the world through the Expo.China is ready to create more conditions for countries to deepen economic and trade cooperation.In the Expo,12 main guest countries staged a"chorus",more than 10 foreign heads of state and government attended,and many of the countries are along the"One Belt And One Road".The participation of enterprises and the personal promotion of state leaders is not only a display of the achievements of"One Belt And One Road",but also a practical action to safeguard China's free trade,promote economic globalization and develop an open economy.It is worth noting that American enterprises are very active in participating in the Expo.According to statistics from the Ministry of Commerce of China,nearly 180 American enterprises have signed up for the fair,ranking the third in the number of exhibitors,and more exhibitors from Japan.The enthusiastic response from foreign companies undoubtedly shows their confidence in China's commitment to opening-up.The Expo was a great innovation for the history of global trade.It has immediate effects on bolstering bilateral trade.Amid the current trade tensions and upheavals,the CIIE sent a strong signal of China's intention to press ahead with a new round of stepped-up reform and opening up-so as to ease trade conflicts by expanding imports.After forty years of growth,China is now the world's second-largest economy with the biggest foreign exchange reserve.China should take the initiative and expand imports so as to restrict its current trade surplus to the best possible levels and to fulfill the role of foreign exchange reserves in boosting the real economy.On November 6,COSCO SHIPPING’s subsidiaries signed 27 procurement agreements with their global partners at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai.COSCO SHIPPING Lines Co.,Ltd.,among others,signed terminal service agreements with nine terminal companies around the world,and shipyards under COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry Co.,Ltd.,including Nantong COSCO KHI Ship Engineering Co.,Ltd.,COSCO SHIPPING(Qidong)Offshore Co.,Ltd.and COSCO SHIPPING Heavy Industry(Yangzhou)Co.,Ltd.,entered into marine equipment and spare parts procurement agreements with 12 suppliers.In addition,China Marine Bunker(PetroChina)Co.,Ltd.,COSCO Petroleum Co.,Ltd.and China Shipping(Singapore)Petroleum Pte.Ltd.concluded bunker oil procurement agreements with five suppliers,and Shenzhen Yuanshang Marine Technology Co.,Ltd.,a subsidiary of COSCO SHIPPING Energy Transportation Co.,Ltd.,inked a marine spare parts procurement agreement with one supplier.Over the years,COSCO SHIPPING has established stable partnerships with suppliers all over the world.Signing those procurement agreements will help the corporation develop its long-term business.In the afternoon,the World Shipping Summit 2018,also hailed as the "Davos Forum of the shipping industry",was hosted by COSCO SHIPPING in Shanghai.Revolving around the theme of "New Pattern of World Trade,New Challenges of Logistics Evolution",about 20 renowned economists and leaders of ports,carriers,logistics and related sectors from all over the world discussed the new growth drivers of trade and shipping and shared their thoughts on major issues regarding the international shipping market.The summit attracted nearly 1,000 representatives from the fields of economy,trade,shipping,ports,logistics and finance from a dozen countries and regions around the world.
