"慧骃国游记"中格列佛对野胡的"使用"触犯了人类的伦理禁忌,通过对慧骃、格列佛、野胡三者之间伦理关系的分析得知,格列佛此举的意图是要与人类进行伦理切割,使自己在理性的基础上与慧骃种族属性趋同。斯威夫特在此提出了对纯以理性定义人类的质疑,并认为绝对理性只会导致人性的堕落。
Gulliver＇ s ＂use＂ of Yahoos voilates human＇ s ethical taboo. Through analyzing the ethical relations among Houyhnhnms, Gulliver, and Yahoos, it is learned that Gulliver intends to cut the ethical relations with human beings, and attempts reason-based species convergence with Houyhnhnms. Thus, Swift questions the notion of defining human beings based on reason, and believes absolute reason only leads to corruption of humanity.
