Unnatural narrative is a new topic in the field of narratology. This kind of narrative contains strange and illogical elements that transcend the realistic paradigm. The unnatural narrative includes the impossible elements that are "unconventionalized" , on the one hand, making readers feel strange and confused; it includes to the impossible elements that are "conventionalized" on the other hand, so that readers are no longer unfamiliar with or confused about the unnatural elements, but can easily accept them as part of the story world. The paper first reviews the controversial def'mitions of the unnatural narrative, explaining its two aspects, namely, un/conventionalized unnatural narrative. Then it analyzes how to interpret the unnatural narrative and make it unconventionalized with the cognitive methods. At last the paper points out the significance of the conventionalized interpretation of unnatural narrative in the aspects of genre in novation and development.
