Military in Politics： Dual Variation of Revolutionization and Modernization （ I ）

从新中国成立初年到＂文化大革命＂前夕的观察表明,革命化与现代化的双重变奏,是新中国成立后中国人民解放军建设与发展过程中的一个鲜明特点。1953年12月7日至翌年1月26日全国军事系统党的高级干部会议与军队的现代化建设,1958年军委扩大会议与反教条主义,林彪主持军委工作与军队的高度政治化等,都是反映这一鲜明特点的重要历史事件。

The observation from the early years of the founding of PRC to the Eve of the Culture Revolution indicates that the dual variation of Revolutionization and Modernization is a distinctive feature during the course of PLA construction and development. It has been reflected by significant historical events including the Party Senior Cadres Meeting of National Military System from December 7th, 1953 to January 26th of the following year and the military modernization construction, the Enlarged Meeting of the Military Commission of the Central Committee of the Party in 1958 and the anti-Dogmatism movement, and Lin Biao＇s being in charge of the Military Commission work and the highly politicalized military and et cetera.
