“Seed of Failure”——The Political Cause of the Modernization of Kuomintang Central Army in 1930s

20世纪30年代,以蒋介石为代表的南京国民政府推进军事现代化的过程虽然抛弃了北洋时期纯粹武力统一的落后观念,但缺乏对军政关系互动的正确认知,从而利用中央权力资源,进行一些既不彻底也不根本的表面建设。从单纯军事角度看,这为日后南京国民政府的最终垮台埋下了一颗失败的种子。

The Nanjing Nationalist Government led by Chiang Kai-shek carried out the military modernization in 1930 s. Although it abandoned the Beiyang Warlord＇s outdated ideas of unifying the country solely by means of force, a poor know ledge of the civil-military interaction and the abuse of central power resources resulted in the superficial construction without any thorough reform. From a military perspective,it is the seed of failure for the downfall of the Nanjing Nationalist Government.
