The Evolution of Shanghai's Urban Renewal and Cultural Turn in New Era

通过对自1978年改革开放以来,上海城市更新的四个阶段及其特征的梳理,总结归纳了上海城市更新的阶段性发展脉络。在政府、市场及社会三方合作的更新机制下,上海的城市更新历程带有鲜明的时代烙印,同时也是城市空间、权力、资本、社会以及各方关系等不同维度的映射。通过挖掘各个阶段城市更新典型案例背后的促进性因素,进而厘清城市更新在每个阶段的特征、操作机制以及空间应对模式。同时指出,新时期上海城市更新更加关注城市的文化内涵特征,并对城市更新中的文化内涵进行了进一步的阐释。

After the reform and opening up in 1978, through the reviewing of the four stages of Shanghai＇s urban renewal and their characteristics, this article summarized the staged development of Shanghai＇s urban renewal. Under the renewal mechanism of cooperation among government, market and society, Shanghai＇s urban renewal process has a distinct mark of the times, and it is also a refect of different dimensions such as urban space, power, capital, society and various parties. By checking the promotional factors behind the typical cases of urban renewal in each stage, the characteristics, operational mechanisms and spatial response modes of urban renewal at each stage are clarifed. At the same time, this article points out that the urban renewal of Shanghai in the new era pays more attention to the cultural connotation and characteristics of the city, and further explains the cultural connotation of the urban renewal.
