This article introduces a simple on -line monitoring and alarm system for the judgment of the cutting tools by using image recognition technology. This article shows the basic hardware stmctmre and related image processing software, and how to realize the real - time alarm by the analysis of the change law of light intensity. It takes the milling cutter of CNC as an example to show the application of the system and verify the principle and practical feasibility of the system. If the system is used effectively, the processing efficiency of the equipment can be improved and the processing cost due to the cutting tools can be reduced.
