城市道路名称译写地方标准的比较研究--兼议《公共服务领域英文译写规范》

A Comparative Study of Local Regulations for the Alphabetical Spelling of Road Names——With Reference to Guidelines for the use of English in Public Service Areas

通过对道路名称译写的地方标准进行比较,发现绝大多数地方标准采用了"通名英译"法,与国家有关法规和强制性国标不一致.2017年6月出台的《公共服务领域英文译写规范》系列国家标准在地名问题上立足于国家语言政策和地名管理法规,表达了用汉语拼音拼写地名的主张.

After a comparative study of local regulations for the alphabetical spelling of road names, the writer finds out that generic terms of road names are advised to be translated into English in most of the local regulations, which is not in conformity with the relevant laws and national standards. The descriptive analysis of the situation is made in order to trace the causes. It is advised in the national standards issued in June, 2017 that road names should be spelt with Chinese Pinyin in accordance with the national laws and regulations on language policy and place names.
