自古以来,婚丧嫁娶是彝族传统习俗中的重要组成部分,但近年来,随着我国市场经济的发展,人们的消费观念逐渐发生变化,凉山彝区的许多传统习俗也随之发生变迁,特别是在高额婚嫁彩礼和丧葬事中铺张浪费的现象十分突出。操办婚嫁和丧葬时动辄十几万至数十万的消费情况时常出现,这不仅制约了凉山彝族地区经济社会的健康发展,也影响脱贫致富的步伐。
