现代汉语中谓词作主、宾语的英译问题

English translation of verbs and adjectives working as subjects and objects in modern Chinese

现代汉语中谓词可以直接作主语和宾语。英译时可借助于词缀、动名词等方法。这些方法使对应于汉语谓词的英语词汇具有名词性质,即英语名物化的结构。最后对英汉两种语言的谓词作了对比研究。

By analyzing the English translation of verbs and adjectives working as subjects and objects in modern Chinese,this paper cites the ways of translation by using affixes and gerunds,by which the English words which respond to the Chinese verbs and adjectives have the characteristics of nouns,that is,nominalization in English.This paper also makes comparative study between predicate in English and Chinese.
