Translation literature and the building of discourse in new period——review on Zhao Xifang's A History of 20^(th) Century Literature Translated into Chinese

赵稀方的《20世纪中国翻译文学史·新时期卷》突破了一般的中国翻译文学史的书写方式,开创又一新的方向。全书借用赛义德"理论旅行"的理论,注重翻译文学在中国新时期话语建构过程中担当的重要作用,考察了西方文化、文艺思潮在经由翻译进入中国新时期历史文化场域的具体环境中所遭遇的移植、转移与再创造。翻译事实上主要是由中国内部的历史原因决定的,反映了中国自己的文化选择和内部的文化冲突。

Zhao Xifang's A History of 20th Century Literature Translated into Chinese is the breakthrough in the writing of history of literature translated into Chinese and open up new direction in it. The book highlights the role of literature translated into Chinese in the discourse building in new period and examines transplanting,removing,recreating of Western culture when translated into Chinese. In fact,translation is determined by the internal cause,reflecting China's own cultural choice.
