What Maisie Knew was written by Henry James as one of his middl-late works centering on children psychological development.As it is an experimental work given by Henry James to explore the characters' mentality,this work is obviously different from Henry James' s previous realistic works.This novel has been regarded as a transitional one to begin his late writing style by many scholars on the study of works of Henry James.This paper mainly explores the modernistic features reflected by What Maisie Knew from the two aspects of theme expression and writing techniques.
