Hamlet in Chinese style: rebel in call of revolution——the representation of“disease”theme metaphor in Julia Lovell's translation of Lu Xun's Diary of a Madman

鲁迅借"吃人"意象在作品《狂人日记》中构建中国病态的社会现实,引领中国进入五四新话语时代。对"疾病隐喻"的英语翻译处理是异域解读近代中国社会问题的一个重点,本文关注英国汉学家蓝诗玲的英译文,关注译文对原文概念隐喻的再呈现。对于译文所甄选词汇在英语在线词典Macmillandictionary中的词义,观察译文中隐喻再创作如何动态推进小说,完成第一人称"迫害狂人"的自我框定,到其他人物病态的映射,再推及普罗大众的内心,实现作品的主题隐喻预设的功能。

Lu Xun constructs the problematic Chinese social realities in the metaphor scenario of'Eating People'in the novel Diary of a Madman,leading China into the May Fourth new discourse time.The English translation of'disease metaphor'is a main point of exotic interpretation to modern Chinese social problems This paper focuses on the translation by British,sinologist Julia Lovell,particularly the representation of concept metaphor of translation work to the original work.As for the meaning of the vocabulary,has been carefully chosen in Macmillandictionary to view how the metaphor in translation can improve the novel and complete the self frame of 'persecution madman'by the first person as to the reflection of other person's problems,then push the general public's hearts to achieve the preset function to the theme of the metaphor.
