Small high-speed diesel, as marine main engine, has not been popularized in applying heavy fuel under condition of lacking fuel separator. Even though a few of local shipping enterprises are making an attempt to do something in this aspect, however, no sufficient theoretical basis for the selection of key performances and structure parameters are available. This paper produces the conclusive opinions for selecting the range of optimum parameter values through a trial on diesel Type 135. series so as to put forward theoretical grounds for applying heavy fuel to small highspeed diesel engines.
