Aesthetic and Ethical Experience in Cultural Diversity——Discussions Between Xu Zhuoyun and Staff from Aesthetics Institution of Nanjing University

本文为许倬云先生与南京大学美学研究所的一次座谈。许先生从历史学家和社会学家的角度谈了他对中西文化差异背景下中国美学的独特理解和体验。他指出中国美学和伦理有许多特殊性,强调必须在注重文化差异的基础上,对不同地域、民族的美学和艺术规律进行对比研究和深入分析。许倬云先生的研究思路及观点例证无疑对于当代中国的美学研究转向具有重要的启示意义。

The discussions between Xu Zhuoyun,a historian and sociologist,and staff from Aesthetics Institution of Nanjing University,are very meaningful and enlightening.Prof.Xu mainly spoke on his understanding and experience about Chinese aesthetics in the context of cultural diversity between the West and the East.He showed us the characteristics of Chinese culture and ethic,and stressed on comparisons and analysis of rules of aesthetics and art based in different cultures.
