A Study on the Evolution,Cause and Impact of the Attitudes of Ta Kung Pao's "Anti-Russian Movement"

本文探讨了英敛之主持的《大公报》"拒俄运动"态度的演变历史轨迹,分析了英敛之《大公报》"拒俄运动"态度演变的主要原因是英敛之的特殊身世及"保清朝"的政治立场和天主教的宗教信仰。认为《大公报》"拒俄运动"态度的转变直接或间接地影响了南北方的"拒俄运动",并在中国近代政治维新立宪发展走向中起了舆论引导推动的重要作用。

This paper probes into the evolution of the attitude of Ying lianzhi’s Ta Kung Pao towards the 'Anti-Russian Movement'. It concludes that the main reason for the evolution is Ying Lianzhi’s personal experience, his political taking of safeguarding the Qing Dynasty and his Catholic religious belief. The author contends that the change of Ta Kung Pao’s attitude somewhat affected the 'anti-Russian movement' in the north and the south. It also played an important role in guiding and promoting the development of political reform and constitutionalism in modern China.
