New research in the field of Anthropology is discussing the important place of Muslim businessmen among minority groups in China. Although this report focuses on Uyghurs in Xinjiang, especially in Kashgar, the new research provides a great deal of understanding about social change in China. Many articles are written about the interesting culture and crafts of minority groups in China. The question is this: Can these skill crafts survive in the new China? This essay looks into the analysis of skill crafts in European and American industrial society and also examines the role of the private sector in Xinjiang. The investigation deals focuses on an interview with one craftsman, a musical instrument maker in Kashgar. What is the future of skill craft shops? The study shows that all these craft industries rely on the Uyghur market. Through the transportation facilities in Western and Eastern Xinjiang, the Uyghur market has been facilitated by the development of roads, railroad and aircraft infrastructure. The study finds that the Uyghur family is the basis of Uyghur skill craft industry. Uyghur family culture supports Uyghur industries, and allows it to survive in the face of mass production and advertising. Specifically, Uyghur family culture supports craftsmanship. There is a generational continuity in ownership and among customers.
